Alexander Lukashenko denies rumors: I am in excellent health - 1

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said that he had undergone the first full medical examination in his life and the results showed that he was in good health. He announced this himself on Sunday on Belarusian television, and his words were also distributed on his channel "Pul Pervogo" in Telegram, reports "Reuters"

"Recently, for the first time in my life, I underwent a full examination within two days. What did they do to me - they even entered my brain. They examined every part of my body with an X-ray. Thank God, everything is fine," said the 70-year-old Lukashenko.

In recent years, doubts have periodically arisen about the health of the Belarusian leader. They intensified especially after a visit to Moscow in May 2023 for the anniversary of the victory over Nazi Germany, when Lukashenko missed some of the events, appeared unstable and did not deliver a speech.

The president himself admitted that even intelligence services from friendly countries had shown interest in his health. "Let them publish the results of the research - I have nothing against it," he added.

Alexander Lukashenko has ruled Belarus since 1994 and is one of Russian President Vladimir Putin's closest allies. He provided Belarusian territory for the Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022, although he stressed that Minsk would not participate directly in the war.

In the West, Lukashenko is sharply criticized for systematic human rights violations, persecution of the opposition and restrictions on freedom of speech. Following the disputed 2020 presidential election, mass protests were violently suppressed, and many leading opposition figures fled the country.
