The DAI no longer considers defective cars dangerous after the Annual Technical Inspection, informed Malinka Bondarenko from the Union of Motorists in Bulgaria.
This is how the promise of Transport Minister Georgi Gvozdeikov is being fulfilled, which is in response to dissatisfaction with the difficulties in going through an examination.
Malinka Bondarenko from the Union of Motorists in Bulgaria said that the change is from the beginning of this week.
"The measurements are no longer in the "Dangerous" category, because they should have entered this category and been stopped from traffic within 14 days. They have changed the system and are no longer dangerous," said Bondarenko.
So now every defective car comes out with the note for “significant“ dangers, it is clear from Bondarenko's words. But this gives their own people the opportunity to remove them within the currently set 14-day period.
"We're just calming people down so there's no tension. But that doesn't solve their problem. "Their problem is with the car," she pointed out.
Malinka Bondarenko did not indicate how the change took place before the working group made its decision. But he pointed out that after the unsuccessful GTP, the owner will only be allowed to drive his car to take it to a service station. Bondarenko warned that if there is an accident after the failed examination, it is possible that the insurers will not recognize the damage.
"You cause a traffic accident, you are to blame. Your civil, if they see that you are overdue and do not have an inspection, it is considered by law that the motor vehicle is technically defective. The latest changes enable the traffic police, when performing a road inspection, even to stop you from moving," explained Bondarenko.
At the end of July, in the first week after the full digitization of inspections, a negligible percentage of unauthorized cars was reported on the roads. The number of cars with "slight discrepancies" it wasn't big either.
