A large fire broke out on Saturday night in a restaurant in the central part of Blagoevgrad, while a children's birthday party was taking place there. Thanks to the quick response of the staff, all customers, including children and their parents, were evacuated in time and no one was injured. However, the damage to the building is enormous, with the roof structure almost completely destroyed.
The restaurant was full of visitors, including a group of about 12-year-old children celebrating a birthday. According to initial information, the fire started in the kitchen. Despite the staff's attempts to extinguish the flames, they quickly spread to the roof due to the high temperature.
“The most important thing is that no one was injured and we can say that this is a real miracle“, Nova TV reported.
Several fire brigade teams arrived on the scene immediately and fought the fire for hours. Due to the scale of the fire, the entire central part of Blagoevgrad was engulfed in thick smoke. Firefighters who were not on shift also joined the extinguishing activities to help their colleagues.
The causes of the incident are still being clarified. The main versions being worked on are a technical malfunction in the electrical installation or a problem with the ventilation system of the establishment. Investigating police officers are inspecting the scene to determine the exact cause of the fire.
