AvtoVAZ has finally lifted the curtain on the updated Lada Niva Travel with the long-awaited new engine. We are no longer talking about just a light facelift, but about a serious step forward in the evolution of this crossover, which promises more dynamics and comfort.
The central element in this update, of course, is the new 1.8-liter gasoline engine. It has a modest 90 horsepower. It is important to note that in addition to the new power unit, engineers have also touched on critical elements such as the braking system and suspension, providing more precise and safe road behavior - both on asphalt and off it.
The updated Lada Niva Travel will be launched on the Russian market in five different equipment levels, which range from pragmatically equipped to fully equipped for the modern consumer. They are named: Classic, Comfort, Life, Enjoy and the top-of-the-line Techno.
The recommended retail prices for the model start at an extremely attractive amount of 1,390,000 rubles, which, at the current exchange rate, is equivalent to approximately 13,900 euros. Let's take a look at what each of the versions offers:
Classic: This is the entry level, but don't think that it is completely "naked". It includes absolutely all the technical improvements (the new engine, optimized brakes and suspension). In addition, the package includes the mandatory safety and comfort elements - a driver airbag, power steering, power windows, heated side mirrors and ABS.
Comfort: With this version, we move on to a more pleasant stay in the cabin. It adds a pair of front airbags for better passive safety, a climate control system to combat heat, heated front seats, roof rails for luggage and a stylish spare tire cover.
Life: This is where we start talking about aesthetics. The Life level enriches the package with modern LED lights that not only look better, but also provide better visibility, as well as 15-inch alloy wheels, giving the SUV a more finished look.
Enjoy: The name speaks for itself. This version is for those who value multimedia and larger wheels. You get 16-inch wheels, an infotainment system with a rearview camera and cruise control.
Techno: This is the icing on the cake, the absolute pinnacle of the Russians' equipment, which demonstrates that Lada can also offer some technology. The Techno comes with large 17-inch alloy wheels, a body-colored spare tire cover, tinted rear windows, front fog lights, and a premium multimedia system. The package also includes a heated windshield (a real lifesaver in winter!) and a height-adjustable driver's seat with lumbar support.
