Geely's offensive on the Bulgarian market is gaining new dimensions with the official premiere of one of the brand's most anticipated models - Starray EM-i. Late last night, the capital became the arena for the first presentation of this technological crossover, which promises to rearrange the cards in the hybrid segment in our country. The event, organized by the official importer of the brand in our country, attracted attention not only with the futuristic design of the car, but also with the claim for record efficiency.
The Starray EM-i is based on the Chinese giant's new Super Hybrid system. The configuration includes a 1.5-liter gasoline engine with a power of 99 hp, which works in perfect synchrony with an electric motor with a power of 218 horsepower. The result is a dynamic system that transmits torque to the front wheels. Thanks to its advanced architecture, the model achieves an impressive combined range of nearly 940 km on the WLTP cycle, and the average fuel consumption is fixed at just 2.4 liters per 100 km - figures that sound almost unreal for a car of this class.
Dynamics have not been neglected either. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h takes exactly 8 seconds, which provides the necessary confidence when overtaking and city driving. For those who prefer the all-electric mode, the battery with a capacity of 18.4 allows a range of 83 km on electricity. The fast charging technology allows filling the capacity from 30% to 80% in less than 20 minutes, which makes the model practical for long trips.
The interior of the Starray EM-i is a true digital hub. The centerpiece is the huge 15.4-inch HD display with the Flyme Auto operating system, which supports wireless Apple CarPlay and intuitive voice control. The high level of equipment also includes a 13.8-inch Head-Up display, an audio system with 16 speakers and a 540-degree camera system for a 3D view around the car. The trunk with a volume of 528 liters, increasing to over 2000 liters with the seats folded, turns the crossover into an ideal family companion.
With its premiere in Sofia, the Geely Starray EM-i marks the beginning of a new era for the brand in Bulgaria. The combination of aggressive pricing, rich standard specifications and innovative hybrid technology will likely make it one of the main players in the SUV segment in 2026.
