A unique Volkswagen Golf from 2009 was shown in Germany, which is in the VR6 version. This prototype was produced in a single copy and until now no one has heard of it. He is talked about in a video on the YouTube channel Halle77 Dortmund.
The Volkswagen Golf 6 VR6 is planned as the successor to the six-cylinder supercharged version of the R32. As you know, VR6 variants existed in the third, fourth and fifth generation of the VW Golf.
Externally, the car looks like an ordinary Volkswagen Golf 6 with three doors. Only the 19-inch wheels from Lamborghini and the sports seats in the compartment testify that this is a wolf in sheep's clothing.
Under the hood of the Volkswagen Golf VR6, a 3.2-liter six-cylinder engine is installed, which has been significantly improved - by strengthening the unit, replacing the intake, fuel system and exhaust system and installing a turbine. The result is an impressive power output of 463 hp. and 520 Nm of torque.
With a 7-speed DSG robot, this monster accelerates from zero to one hundred in less than 5 seconds, and its top speed is electronically limited to 250 km/h. Additionally, this VW Golf's suspension has been revised and brakes from an Audi RS6 have been fitted.
However, the project is closed and instead the Germans decided to launch the 2.0-liter Volkswagen Golf R. Now the company has decided to declassify the prototype, the occasion being the 50th anniversary of the VW Golf.
