Like its predecessor (which was produced for 14 years), the new seventh generation Nissan Patrol remains more affordable sibling of the Infiniti QX80. The new model will continue to be sold under the Nissan Armada name in the North American market.
The new Nissan Patrol is similar to the 2025 Infiniti QX80. It has a classic two-volume silhouette with a tall front hood and thick triangular rear roof pillars. However, the wide grille is different, the door handles are conventional (rather than retractable), and the headlights and taillights are mounted vertically.
The new platform increases body stiffness by 25%. Also in some countries, an off-road version will be offered with tapered bumpers that offer better attack pins, as well as additional underbody protection and higher profile tires.
The interior of the Nissan Patrol 2025 has also been significantly improved. Two 14.3-inch displays are mounted on the front panel - a virtual instrument panel and a touchscreen multimedia display. A separate 9-inch touchscreen replaces the climate control switches, and there's also a new windscreen projection.
The SUV comes on the market in versions with 7 and 8 seats. The front seats can now be equipped not only with electric drive, heating and ventilation, but also with a massage function. Other options include monitors for rear passengers, a 12-speaker audio system, surround-view cameras with off-road mode and the ProPilot semi-autonomous driving system.
The 5.6-liter V8 engine has been replaced by a more economical 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 engine that develops 425 hp. and 700 Nm of maximum torque. A 3.8-liter naturally aspirated engine with 316 hp is also available. A new 9-speed automatic gearbox works in tandem with the engines.
The SUV can tow a 3.8-ton trailer. Of course, four-wheel drive with a reduction gear is retained, but the electronic locking of the rear differential is new. There is also an air suspension with variable (190-244 mm) clearance and 6 modes for different types of off-road.
