Nissan Qashqai jumped with a bungee and entered the Guinness Book of Records (VIDEO) - 1

The Nissan Qashqai crossover set an unusual record in the Guinness Book. The car “jumped“ with a bungee, having previously been raised to a height of 65 meters. The stunt took just a month to prepare and will be part of the new Qashqai's advertising campaign. The planning and organization of the jump was carried out by Nissan France, the FUSE agency, Nissan United, as well as several teams of BBC technicians.

Thus, Nissan set a record in the Guinness Book of Records for the “highest bungee jump with a car”. To do this, a special cage was made with the Qashqai crossover inside, which was lifted by a crane to a height of 65 meters, having previously dismantled the interior of the car, leaving only the driver's seat and dashboard. The “cell” is designed in such a way that it can support the weight of the car both in a horizontal position and at an angle of 45 degrees, necessary to provide the necessary momentum before the jump.

The French racer and stuntman Laurent Lascaux is also in the car. After raising the platform to the required height, the crane operator opened the door of the “cage” and the crossover went into free fall. For safety reasons, the Qashqai is suspended on as many as eight belts, allowing control of how low and how fast the car will drop. After the crossover wobbled a bit in the air, it was safely lowered to the ground, and Guinness World Records official Prav Patel recorded a new and unique record so far.

The stunt was filmed on the outskirts of Paris with the participation of Nissan France, FUSE agencies, Nissan United and BBC technical teams. The jump is part of a new TV campaign for the new Qashqai, which will debut on screens in September. In Europe, the crossover can only be in a hybrid version. The initial versions are equipped with a 1.3-liter gasoline turbo engine (140 or 158 hp) with a 12-volt starter-generator, the more expensive options are equipped with their own e-Power system with a 1.5-liter four-cylinder turbo engine (157 hp .s.) and an electric motor with a power of 190 horsepower.
