As we already informed you, the operating profit of the car manufacturer Audi recently fell by more than 90 percent. This will inevitably lead to upheavals in the brand itself, which will mainly affect its workers.
Audi has confirmed that the board is currently in talks with the union council over cuts in so-called indirect jobs at the company, such as in development, where more than 2,000 people could be cut, according to the report.
This is just the first step. The goal in the so-called indirect area is a reduction of about 15 percent. According to data in Germany, this will amount to around 4,500 jobs. And it can't be otherwise, because Audi reported a sharp drop in profit.
This is a drop of 91 percent, or up to 106 million euros in the third quarter of this year alone. The basis is the bad economy and restructuring; partly due to the high costs associated with the likely closure of the Brussels plant.
