The leaders of the European People's Party have published a declaration that practically cancels almost everything set out in the 2019 European Green Deal. Finally, the leading political formation in the EU has clearly realized how destructive the impact of the current policy is on the European Union.
Among the new proposals, the most interesting are postponing the sustainability reporting obligations (CSRD) by at least 2 years, postponing the introduction of carbon tariffs (CBAM) by at least 2 years, introducing real impact assessments for any new legislation in order to prevent the adoption of laws that destroy European competitiveness and most importantly
abolishing fines for failure to achieve the average carbon emissions targets for cars sold for all car manufacturers.
All of the above is being done in order to save the European industry, economy and population from the insane policies that were imposed by Brussels in the period 2019 - 2024. May these changes become a reality and give the necessary boost to the European economy and in particular to the automotive industry in Europe.
