Owners of Toyota RAV4s, manufactured by the FAW Toyota joint venture in China, have faced a serious problem - their cars begin to rust even before they are handed over to dealers or shortly after they are sold.
Corrosion is found in various places on the body and in structural elements, including screws, threaded connections, dashboard frames, drive shafts, doors and even on the main body panels.
According to experts, the problem is related to insufficient anti-corrosion treatment. Discussion of this defect is gaining momentum on Chinese social media, as more and more owners report similar cases.
In response to numerous complaints, FAW Toyota representatives urged owners to contact official dealers for warranty repairs. However, many customers claim that even after repairs, the rust reappears.
This has caused a wave of discontent and car owners are already preparing a class action lawsuit against the manufacturer. It is worth noting that these cars are not officially supplied to the European market.
