At a time when electrification and hybrid technologies are conquering the automotive market, Volvo has announced the start of pre-sales of its new XC70 crossover. The event will take place in China on August 27, just before the opening of a major auto show in Chengdu.
Technology and features
The new Volvo XC70 will be equipped with a hybrid powertrain, which includes a 1.5-liter turbo engine with a capacity of 163 horsepower. Although the power of the electric motor has not yet been announced, the manufacturer has revealed that the car will be able to travel up to 200 kilometers on electricity alone.
The dimensions of the crossover are 4,815 x 1,890 x 1,650 mm, and its wheelbase is 2,895 mm. The equipment of the new XC70 is rich and includes a number of modern technologies that guarantee comfort and safety, including: a media system with a large 15.4-inch screen, a digital dashboard with a 12-inch display, a 92-inch projection screen that provides important information directly in front of the driver, a telematics connectivity system, an air conditioning system with a fragrance function, adaptive cruise control operating up to maximum speed, which assists driving in various conditions, and much more.
Pricing policy
The price of the model has not yet been officially announced, but according to the logic of the Volvo model range, the XC70 will be positioned between the XC60 and the flagship XC90. With this strategy, the company aims to offer its customers a luxurious and well-equipped vehicle in the mid-size crossover segment.
