Gordon Murray, the legendary designer who created the iconic McLaren F1, has revealed his vision for a modern supercar worthy of carrying on his legacy. Through his company Gordon Murray Special Vehicles (GMSV), he presented two completely original projects, the S1 LM and the Le Mans GTR, which open a new chapter in the history of automotive design.

S1 LM: a nod to the classics

The S1 LM model is a direct tribute to the McLaren F1's victory at the "24 Hours of Le Mans" in 1995. The car skillfully combines recognizable elements of the classics, such as the shapes of the headlights, the original air intakes and the characteristic side lines. All this is woven into a contemporary and extremely distinctive design.

Under the hood of the S1 LM is a naturally aspirated 4.3-liter V12 engine that generates over 700 horsepower. The gearbox is made up of components from the T50 and T50S models, and the suspension is lighter and stiffer, ensuring perfect handling. The interior retains the iconic three-seat configuration with a “skeleton“ architecture. Only five copies of this model will be produced, which have already been sold.

Le Mans GTR: the modern "long tail"

The Le Mans GTR is an homage to the F1 GTR Longtail and draws inspiration from iconic prototypes such as the Porsche 917 and Alfa Romeo Tipo 33/3. The engine is taken from the T50 model, but the aerodynamics and chassis have undergone radical changes. The car has an extended "tail" for greater downforce, large air intakes, additional cooling and a rigid transmission for maximum responsiveness.
