Volkswagen has unveiled a concept model that challenges traditional ideas about automotive design. At the IAA Mobility motor show in Munich, the new Volkswagen EVX was also presented - an unusual electric car that mixes the characteristics of a two-door coupe and a crossover. Although still just a concept, it hints at the brand's future design language and is based on the platform of the new electric Polo.

Developed by the famous ItalDesign studio, the design of the Volkswagen EVX is different from anything we have seen from Volkswagen so far. The car impresses with an athletic stance, emphasized by short overhangs, a high window line and a smooth, curved roof. The front and rear are pointed, and the thin lights give it a futuristic look. The large wheels also attract attention, as well as the cameras that replace the traditional side mirrors.

The Volkswagen EVX has relatively compact dimensions - 4230 mm long, 1820 mm wide and 1490 mm high. Although the interior has not yet been shown, it is known that the electric crossover has a 2+2 seating configuration, which is typical of sports coupes and further emphasizes its unique character.

The concept is built on the MEV+ platform, which is also expected to be used by the new electric Volkswagen Polo. This suggests that the EVX may also share some of the technical characteristics of the future hatchback, including the expected 223 horsepower electric engine. Although Volkswagen has not confirmed whether the EVX will enter series production, it undoubtedly gives a clear idea of the bold ideas and innovations that are being prepared at the company.
