The German arms concern Rheinmetall received from the German Ministry of Defense the largest order in its history, which includes the supply of 6,500 unarmored military trucks (UTF) for the Bundeswehr (German Armed Forces) worth a total of up to EUR 3.5 billion, according to a statement published on the company's website .

The first part of the order includes 610 trucks worth EUR 312 million, of which 210 are to be delivered to Germany this year. The deliveries are financed by special funds of the Bundeswehr. “This framework contract enables the Bundeswehr to subsequently order additional quantities of its existing UTF 5t and UTF15t vehicles within seven years,” the concern said in a statement.

On June 20, Rheinmetall announced the conclusion of a contract for the purchase of ammunition worth EUR 8.5 billion with the German armed forces. The first deliveries under the new contract are planned for the beginning of 2025

Rheinmetall is the largest defense concern in Germany. In terms of the number of military vehicles and ammunition produced, it is considered one of the three largest concerns in the West.
