„At the moment, we are observing the traditional autumn price increase and a smooth change in the curve, but this is a completely normal process. "Since March 2023, we have not seen any sharp changes, the market is in a good sustainable equilibrium and everything is balanced with demand," he said in the "This Saturday" program. the chairman of the state commission on commodity exchanges and auctions Vladimir Ivanov.
Currently, the oil price is lower than last year. He predicts an increase in the price, but he says it will not be drastic.
„Maybe there will be an increase, but it will be smooth and not with serious percentages. The market itself will say where the limit is according to supply and demand. The harvest suffered damage, this is also typical in Moldova, Ukraine and Romania. However, the situation has nothing to do with the one two years ago. Perhaps it will become more difficult to raise raw materials and they will realize lower profitability, but I do not see conditions that would endanger the industry and lead to bankruptcies and closings of enterprises”, explained Vladimir Ivanov.
In terms of bakery products, we are the best insured, assured the chairman of the state commission on commodity exchanges and markets.
„We have a pretty good harvest there, with good quality, close to the record ones. The problem there is the low international price. It is the same with corn. In terms of the realization of our producers, it will not be easy for them, the market will be difficult from the point of view of profitability and obtaining a price. The consumer should not suffer at all in terms of bakery products,”, he pointed out.
According to him, there is cheese on the market for both BGN 10 and BGN 40 per kilogram. The question is quality.
„There is no way to have a nice high-quality cheese for BGN 10. Consumers should not look at the low value at all costs, but consider the price with the quality. A person needs to be very well informed about who the producer is, which dairy it is from, what its reputation is, what the cheese contains,“ advises Vladimir Ivanov.
He also commented on the prices of basic products in North Macedonia, where a bTV check showed that many people choose to shop.
„I don't wish we had the market of North Macedonia, our market is much better stocked. In PCM you can produce whatever and however you want. The eggs are unmarked, without control, freely sold. When you go to such type of destinations to shop especially with larger quantities – the risk is huge. Not to give examples of quince brandies where there are no quinces. It's some kind of fashion, the price differences are such that it's worth going," said Vladimir Ivanov.
In his words, the continued escalation of tensions in the Middle East may affect the world stock markets and lead to higher prices for fuels, medicines and other products.
