The American corporation Apple has offered the Indonesian authorities additional significant investments in order to lift the ban on the sale of the iPhone 16 in the country, reported ag. Bloomberg.

Apple's funds - at least USD 10 million - are planned to be invested specifically in a facility in Bandung that will produce accessories and components for Apple smartphones.

It is noted that the trade restrictions will remain until the US corporations Google and Apple meet the requirements of the national certificate of conformity of the components.

In turn, Indonesian Industry Minister Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita said that Apple must meet remaining investment commitments of 240 billion Indonesian rupiah (about 15.3 million USD) out of a total of 1.71 trillion rupiah ( about 109 million USD) to get a license to sell iPhone 16 in the country.

Jakarta previously banned the sale of these smartphones, as well as Google Pixel devices, for violating rules requiring them to contain at least 40% of domestically produced components.
