The National Assembly will receive 70 new official cars. The leasing contract is worth 4.5 million leva excluding VAT and has a duration of 48 months, BTV reports.
The deputies will drive in 57 gasoline and 13 electric cars. They are stored in Sofia and are about to be handed over to the National Assembly.
The intended range with a fully charged battery of the electric cars is 589 km. They have a power of 210 kW or 285 horsepower.
The gasoline cars have a 4x4 drive and a power of 265 horsepower.
The minimum power requirements for the cars were 120 kW (160 horsepower). When asked for an explanation of why the high power of the cars was necessary, the administration of the National Assembly specified that the cars for deputies are included in the group of vehicles with a special traffic regime. This allows them to move at a speed above the 140 km/h limit on highways.
“The minimum requirements are dictated by the specific functions performed by the National Assembly's car fleet - long business trips in the country and abroad, representative functions related to international events organized in connection with the institution's activities“, the explanations from the administration of the National Assembly write.
