89 municipalities in Bulgaria have disrupted water supply. This is shown by the data of the regional ministry for the first half of September, NOVA reported. Over 260,000 people are affected. The situation remains the worst in Pleven, where protests due to the lack of water are also planned for Sunday. Roadblocks are also expected.
On NOVA, state health inspector Assoc. Prof. Angel Kunchev assured that there are no deviations in the quality of water in the regions with a regime.
"When you focus on the fact that you have to change your hygiene habits, you get to the point that despite the lack of water, elementary disinfection measures prevent an epidemic outbreak", emphasized Assoc. Prof. Kunchev.
And he added: "For years, we haven't had a severe, serious water-based epidemic outbreak that was transmitted through water, whether from water carriers or from the network, with constant stopping and starting. Where there is a regime, we almost double our control over the quality of drinking water. And when there are even the slightest deviations, we stop using it, with the full awareness that this further aggravates the situation".
