The National Security Service (NSO) is introducing security measures in Veliko Tarnovo on the occasion of the 117th anniversary of the declaration of Bulgaria's Independence, the NSO announced, dariknews.bg reported.
Veliko Tarnovo will be the center of the celebrations, and the culmination is the ceremonial dawn check starting at 7:30 p.m. on Tsar Asen I Square, .
Access to the security zone for citizens will be provided after 6:00 p.m. through three checkpoints located on Nikola Picolo Street, Ivan Vazov Street and on ul. „St. Kliment Ohridski“.
The NSO officers will carry out checks for objects, generally dangerous means and substances. Citizens will be checked with metal detectors for the presence of firearms and cold weapons, sharp objects, explosives and flammable substances, sources of ionizing radiation, fireworks and other pyrotechnic products. Citizens carrying bulky luggage will not be allowed to the event. Access to people in a visibly inadequate condition will also be restricted.
From 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., a ban on the use of unmanned aerial systems (drones) in the event area is introduced.
