RIA takes measures for the expected heavy traffic on the Hemus Motorway on the third day off - 1

Tomorrow - September 22, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., two lanes will be provided for traffic in the direction of Sofia on the "Hemus" Motorway in the section from the "Yana" junction to the capital, FOCUS reported.

Traffic to Varna will be redirected along a bypass route on road I-1 from Sofia through Dolni and Gorni Bogrov to the "Yana" junction, where it will continue along the highway. The temporary traffic organization is aimed at facilitating passage through the section, increasing safety and reducing travel time, given the expected heavy traffic at the end of the weekends.

Since September 15, preventive repairs have begun on 8.3 km of the "Hemus" motorway in the Sofia lane, in the section from the village of Yana to the entrance to the capital. The section is in poor condition and in the spring and summer, geodetic surveys were carried out on the route, necessary for the development of the technological project for repairs. It provides for a complete replacement of the pavement and the laying of a geogrid to reinforce it, and drainage will also be improved. After the repairs, the section will have new restrictive systems, markings and signs.

The scheduled completion date for the repairs in the Sofia lane is October 31. The construction and installation activities will be carried out under the contract for the maintenance of the "Hemus" Motorway by the company "Automagistrali" EAD.

The "Road Infrastructure" Agency apologizes to the citizens for the inconvenience caused, but the repair activities are necessary to ensure traffic safety and increase travel comfort. Drivers must comply with traffic rules and speed limits, and not undertake risky overtaking that endangers the safety of all other travelers.

All citizens and transport companies can receive information about the current traffic situation from the API website - www.api.bg, as well as at any time of the day by calling 0700 130 20.
