„We gathered the strength to come out and speak out so that the truth can be understood about who is to blame. A lot was written and many comments were against us - that we doomed our child, while at the same time we wanted to make one of his dreams come true.
Our friends and family did not leave us for a moment. Thank you to everyone who supported us”, said the mother Maria Deneva of the child who died in Nessebar, who fell from a parachute, in front of NOVA.
According to her, their son had long dreamed of flying with a parachute over the sea. „He had been saving his Christmas and birthday money for the sea. He had been begging us for years to go up. Last year they told us that he was too small and that he could do it next year. On the third day, when they saw the parachutes, we went to ask for an appointment. They said we could do it in five minutes, without a ticket and without instructions. While we were flying, we were talking, looking at the sea and suddenly the child flew away,” she said.
Maria Deneva described shocking safety lapses: “They put different belts on the other mother and daughter. No one from the boat did anything when he fell. I was screaming, but no one reacted. By the time they got me off, the sea had already taken him away“.
Father Miroslav Delinov added: “The idea is to understand that there are people to blame and it's not us. We can't believe that in such a tragedy people point fingers at the mother. One moment you are full of emotions, and the next you have no strength for anything and instead of support you get accusations. This is not a ridiculous incident. This is a crime because the belts were worn out and there was no instruction“.
“I understood what happened from the commotion on the beach. I never thought that this belt could break. When they pulled him out on the beach, he was wheezing and breathing. He was taken to the medical center, which is a room on the beach”, he said.
The family's lawyer Trifon Grudev confirmed the theory of gross negligence. “This is a crime, expressed in gross negligence on the part of the responsible persons. There is evidence of wear and tear on the belts and lack of instruction. We will seek justice through the courts“, Grudev said.
