Preventive repairs begin on the lane to Burgas and in sections of the „Trakia“ highway in the Pazardzhik and Sliven districts. This was announced by the „Road Infrastructure“ Agency (API).
Today, activities begin on an 11-kilometer section in the Sliven district, in the section between the 262nd and 273rd kilometers. For the implementation of the planned activities, traffic in the lane to Burgas will be limited. Traffic will flow in two directions in the Sofia lane, with one lane in the direction of Burgas and one lane in the direction of the capital.
On September 24 (Wednesday), preventive repairs will begin in the Burgas lane at 8 kilometers from the “Trakia“ highway, in the section between the 90th and 98th kilometers, in the territory of the Pazardzhik district. For the implementation of the planned activities, traffic in the Burgas lane will be limited. Traffic will flow in two directions in the Sofia lane, with one lane in the direction of Burgas and one lane in the direction of the capital.
In case of heavy traffic and to increase safety during the weekends, reverse traffic will be introduced. On Friday and Saturday there will be two lanes for Burgas and one for Sofia, and on Sunday two lanes for those traveling to the capital and one for Burgas, the RIA also informs.
The technological projects for the repair of the sections provide for a complete replacement of the asphalt pavement, drainage activities, renovation of signs and restriction systems, new markings and more. Work will be carried out on the site daily to complete the construction and installation works as soon as possible. First, the lane for Burgas will be repaired, and then the lane for Sofia. The estimated deadline for completing the construction and installation works is November 30. The repair activities have been assigned under the contract for the current repair and maintenance of the "Trakia" Motorway of the "Automagistrali" EAD.
API apologizes to citizens for the inconvenience caused, but the repair work is necessary to ensure traffic safety and increase travel comfort. The appeal to drivers is to drive carefully, to follow the rules and speed limits, and not to undertake risky overtaking that endangers the safety of all other travelers.
