After the news that the Supreme Court of Cassation does not recognize Borislav Sarafov as acting prosecutor general, the prosecutor's office also issued a statement stating that a decision of the Supreme Judicial Council can only be overturned by the Supreme Administrative Court. In this regard, the former Minister of Interior, Prof. Vesselin Vuchkov, recalled in the program “Live Day” on NovaNews that The Supreme Judicial Council did not make this decision with an act so that this act would not be attacked by the Supreme Administrative Court. According to him, this news is significant and should not be so easily ignored by the prosecutor's office. Vuchkov said that “the fog is starting to clear” and it may turn out that we will not have an acting prosecutor general for two months. The solution for him is the election of a new Supreme Judicial Council and then the election of a new prosecutor general.
Regarding the desire of the ruling party to deprive the president of the right to appoint to the Services, Vuchkov noted that it is not good to play with the security services and added that the changes in the parliament are being made out of spite. His opinion is that the powers of the head of state, who is elected by the people and is the supreme commander-in-chief, should not be taken away. The former minister stated that the interests in the services are enormous, because the National Security Agency, for example, has equipment and personnel for wiretapping and tracking people. His fear is that from now on, with every change in the political situation, the heads of services will change.
Veselin Vuchkov emphasized that there are no reforms in the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and there are not even proposals for such. According to him, this ministry needs to air out the entire staff. The lecturer pointed out that 4,400 pensioners work in the Ministry of Interior, and 2,000 people have not taken the mandatory physical exams.
