Prof. Garnizov: This is a complicated government with many shareholders. But only Borisov can close the enterprise - 1

"This is a complicated government with many shareholders. I do not see anyone, except Borisov, having the ability to close the enterprise".

This opinion was expressed to the Bulgarian National Radio by political scientist and anthropologist Prof. Vasil Garnizov.

"At the core of the Borisov doctrine there is a statement that, if challenged, Borisov's very legitimacy is weakened and it is "I am not losing. I have not lost any elections" - this is a key political thesis", he commented after the elections in Pazardzhik and the subsequent angry monologue of the GERB leader.

Prof. Garnizov reminded how the result of the elections in the city was announced - "Borisov lost". He lost to Peevski, but also to PP-DB, he noted. And regarding Borisov's angry speech, he expressed the opinion that it was a big mistake for a leader to speak for so long.

"The joke and irony could not hide the fact that his party remained in 6th place in one election. He had to show that he was in control of something. Taking a proclamation for early elections out of his pocket is good, because they really depend on him".

According to him, the forces in parliament are currently structured in such a way that only around Borisov can power gather:

"When he hinted at early elections, he said "I am still the only one who can represent a power center. I am still the only factor, all the others are circumstances"".

Peevski cannot assemble a government alone, the political scientist emphasized in an interview for the program "Politically Incorrect". According to him, Borisov himself does not want the MRF-NN to participate with ministers in the government:

"Such political support from Peevski, which also includes his ministers, means putting another Magnitsky on his head. He barely got rid of Vladislav Goranov".

"At the moment, only Borisov can provide governance. This does not mean that he is not vulnerable, but he reminded us that he cannot do without him", was categorical Prof. Vasil Garnizov, emphasizing that no one wants parliamentary elections now.

Information is coming from many directions that work is being done to remove Peevski from the "Magnitsky" list. According to the political scientist, Borisov himself would at some point have an interest in Peevski being off the list. Then he could be his official legitimate partner, Garnizov explained, but he also gave another version of the situation:

"Or is it rather in Peevski's interest to remain on the list, and he constantly demonstrates frantic efforts to remove him".

Regarding the rotation of the Speaker of the National Assembly, Prof. Garnizov pointed out that this once again shows both the BSP, Peevski, and everyone that nothing can be done without Borisov:

"Currently, there is no other center in our parliamentary life. There is no one else around whom a solid enough majority can be formed to create an alternative form of government".

According to him, this parliament will most likely serve out its term until a solid competitor appears.

This government belongs to Zhelyazkov, expressed his opinion Vasil Garnizov and explained:

"Zhelyazkov was Stefan Sofianski's secretary general. He is accepted in the EU and the US as a normal equal partner. Borisov and Peevski do not attend these meetings. Whatever it is - the prime minister attends these meetings and has his own agenda, which currently seems to coincide with the agenda of both Borisov and Peevski. If they decide to replace him, who will they replace him with? This job is not easy".

The government has co-owners, he added.

"I cannot prove the thesis that the majority owner of the government is Mr. Peevski. He may hold some shares, but the manager is the one where the drawer opens. Influence cannot completely replace the institutional order".

As for the president, the political scientist believes that he has fallen into the shadows. "This type of speech and actions, in which he already says too openly "I", "my party", is with the intention of overturning the public focus. With this, he is trying to make the entire current opposition redundant and, if it does not play smart, to turn it into some circumstance of political life, forced at some point to have to choose - whether to be a coalition partner of Borisov or Radev", he explained. According to him, this is Radev's goal.

In his words, if Rumen Radev waits to serve out his entire term, he is "gone".

"Borisov and Peevski will not make the mistake of inciting Radev to take to the field before the end of his term, and he will only take to the field if there are early elections. So, early elections are unlikely to happen anytime soon," the political scientist expressed his opinion.

On the Day of the National Awakeners, Prof. Garnizov emphasized that this is a day of enlighteners, of enlightenment.

"Let's hope that in 100 years our descendants will find a Bulgarian for whom they will not argue", he said.

"In my soul, Milen Ruskov and Georgi Gospodinov are not opposed", the anthropologist emphasized. And he noted that Milen Ruskov is a huge talent and has brilliant things. According to him, he became vulnerable and hurt by the fact that at one point he became "invisible" and that he was not sufficiently recognized.

"Such people often seek out the counterculture to remind themselves of themselves. Russophilia is currently a form of counterculture".
