The draft budgets of the Social Insurance Institution, the National Health Insurance Fund and the state budget for next year are being discussed in parliament. The three bills will go through the committees before the plenary hall, reports Nova TV. They have already received the approval of the Council of Ministers, but not of the social partners. Last week, the Defense Committee adopted the draft budget of the army for 2026.
The 2026 Budget stipulates that the minimum wage from January 1 will be 620 euros, and all pensions will increase by between 7% and 8% according to the Swiss rule.
Economic growth of 2.7%, a deficit of 3% and a new state debt of up to 10.44 billion euros are also envisaged. Tax changes are also envisaged - an increase in the dividend tax from 5% to 10% and a higher maximum insurance threshold. This is Bulgaria's first budget in euros.
Money for the National Health Insurance Fund
Money for health must also be approved by the deputies. The budget for the Treasury for 2026 is 5.57 billion euros - or about 15% more than the current one.
Health insurance payments are increasing by 10%. A new transfer of 260 million euros from the central budget is planned for additional payment of activities of medical institutions. The health contribution is maintained at the rate of 8%.
On Thursday, the budget plan will go through four more committees.
