Checkpoints are being built to check the citizens who have decided to participate in the upcoming protest, which will take place from 6:00 p.m. in front of the National Assembly building. This was stated by the Director of the State Security Service, Chief Commissioner Lyubomir Nikolov.
The reason is that there have been calls for hooliganism by the protesters.
„Checkpoints will be built, where all persons with a profile of aggressive citizens, known from previous protests, will be thoroughly checked. We rely on the civil position of the protesters, organizers and stewards to immediately submit information to the officers and to signal when identifying persons who are preparing or carrying out illegal actions“, added the director of the SDVR and appealed to the Sofia Municipality to immediately issue an order to end the protest in the event of possible provocations and escalation of tension.
“We have nothing against peacefully protesting citizens who wish to express their position through peaceful actions“, he explained.
Before, during and after the protest, police officers will monitor the preservation of public order and the prevention of incidents on the territory of the city.
For this purpose, checkpoints will be built at the following points:
► To the Largo complex, from the side of „Maria Luiza“ blvd.;
► The approach to the Constitutional Court, from the side of „Triaditsa“ blvd.;
► In the area of „Lege“ and „Saborna“ Str. and the exit from the Presidential courtyard;
► On „Knyaz Alexander I“ blvd.;
► On „Tsar Osvoboditel“ blvd. opposite the National Art Gallery;
► In the Tsar's Garden - behind the National Art Gallery;
► In the area of \u200b\u200bMoskovska\u200bStr.;
► On \u200b\u200bSerdika\u200bStr. and on \u200b\u200bTriaditsa\u200bStr.;
► On \u200b\u200bAlexander Dondukov\u200bStr. before the intersection with \u200b\u200bVeslets\u200bStr.
At the indicated checkpoints , law enforcement officers will check for prohibited objects and belongings - weapons, pyrotechnics, batons, boxing gloves and others.
