Kuzman Iliev: The answer to the problems is not only the protest

The budget has become a political tool in the political game. The criticism of Assen Vassilev and all those who criticize the current budget is justified, because it is outrageous, but the draft budget is a continuation of the budgets for 2025, 2024, 2023, 2022. This was said by the financial analyst and co-chairman of the political party "Bulgaria can" Kuzman in the program "Bulgaria, Europe and the World in Focus" on Radio "Focus".

The protests are a tool for achieving a political goal, which, however, must be defined. "The real goal of this protest was originally supposed to and must be stated from now on as the overthrow of this majority from power. It is illegal and stillborn from the very beginning. Does a return of the budget fix everything, or is the budget actually like that because the majority in parliament is shoddy? It simply does not understand the strategic risks and decisions facing Bulgaria. The answer to the problems is not only the protest, which cannot throw out one or another MP from this parliament, but another majority with a different mindset, with a different understanding of the economy, culture, and the spirit of Bulgarians. When there is such another majority, which has also come through democratic means, however, it will isolate those political factors that have abused the people's trust“, explained Iliev.

According to the financial analyst, there is enough money in Bulgaria, but it is not being spent effectively. – – We need to restore transparency, put things on an expert basis, prioritize what is important and what is not - do we need infrastructure, a children's hospital, do we always have to hit nerve points, our energy sector, for example, at the expense of our interests. These are big topics and they require vision, political will and perseverance. Inflation can be controlled by controlling government spending. It incurs these costs by taking on external debt and injecting them into the system. We need to control these costs, make them more efficient, take care of socially vulnerable groups who really need them, cleaning out this bottomless pit with the TELKs, stabilizing the investments that the public sector is making“, Kuzman Iliev listed.
