The ski area in Pamporovo will open on December 28th, Sofia Tsankova, executive director of „Pamporovo“ AD, told BTA. The main slopes in the resort are being processed with snow groomers today and the company calls for caution in the ski area.
The accumulated natural snow in Pamporovo is about 15-20 cm, according to data from the Mountain Rescue Service. After the temperatures drop to minus values, the slopes are also covered by artificial snow guns.
On December 28, slopes 1, 1A, 6, 6A, 10, 11 will be available to skiers. In the coming days, the processing and preparation of more slopes will continue. Relying on the weather forecasts for the expected retention of minus temperatures, “Pamporovo“ AD plans to open the entire ski area by January 1-3.
The hotels in Pamporovo are full of tourists celebrating Christmas and New Year in the resort, the company informs. The first charters with English tourists for this winter have already arrived, and charter flights with Irish groups are also expected on December 28. Despite the unfavorable weather conditions, which caused the ski area to open later, no charters with tourists to Pamporovo have been canceled, according to “Pamporovo“ AD. Mostly Bulgarian tourists are the main visitors to the hotel complex at this time.
