The Plovdiv rowing canal froze. Due to the low temperatures in recent days, the favorite recreation and sports area of Plovdiv residents is now dangerous. In previous years, this has led to incidents, and therefore the municipality is now taking special security measures, BNT reported.
The Plovdiv municipality has increased municipal security. Here, employees have been walking around, patrolling since the morning and watching for people who might want to do some experiments. In previous years, there have been people stepping on the ice, which turns out to be extremely thin and dangerous.
Angel Slavov, Deputy Mayor of Plovdiv Municipality: "As you know, for several days the temperatures have dropped below zero and due to several technical and organizational moments the Rowing Base remained full and in connection with this it is freezing due to the low temperatures, which makes it dangerous to access, especially for children and adolescents, who are so attracted to the ice to get on and skate. In connection with this, we have increased the presence of municipal security, with more frequent periodic checks being made, with two patrols patrolling the entire perimeter and observing public order and ensuring that no incidents occur."
