Maya Manolova helps citizens flood KEVR with complaints about electricity bills - 1

In her Facebook post, the chairwoman of the civic platform Stand Up.BG Maya Manolova announced that she and her team will help citizens appeal their illegally high electricity bills in connection with the dozens of signals received about drastically inflated electricity bills for the period November-December.

„The EPRs came out with positions that everything with the bills was „accurate“ – they calculated correctly, it's just, you see, citizens consumed more compared to last year – and by at least 40%?!&ndquo; &ndquo; Manolova was indignant.

According to the former ombudsman, despite the „abnormalities of the monopolists“ citizens claim that their electricity consumption has not changed compared to the previous year, and the reporting period is the same and the air temperature is similar.

People are angry because, against the backdrop of the general increase in the cost of living, paying double bills is unbearable and unfair. After the price slap against consumers, now it is the turn of electric shock on hundreds of thousands of households.“ – commented the leader of Stand Up.BG.

According to her, citizens are demanding the intervention of the civil platform because “in a state of monopolies and lobbies, someone must protect them.“

Therefore, Stand Up.BG prepared and published a sample complaint that anyone can fill out and submit to the Energy and Water Regulatory Commission - either on paper through the relevant ERP, or with an electronic signature on the Unified Portal for Providing Information and Services by the Energy and Water Regulatory Commission (https://portal.dker.bg/).

“We will wait for the results of the EWRC inspection and if they are unsatisfactory – we will see you in court.“ – Manolova was categorical.
