The Yambol village of Kozarevo has started a petition to the Ombudsman due to high electricity prices.

Dozens of people have received bills that are many times higher than in previous months.

According to the mayor of the village, the dissatisfaction will turn into protests. This was reported by bTV.

With a post on social networks, the mayor Teodora Tacheva announced that the petition will be sent to EVN, the Energy Regulatory Commission and the Consumer Protection Commission. The residents of the village are demanding an inspection of the electricity consumed and the correction of the current bills.

EVN - Bulgaria specifies that since January 1, they have received a total of 400 signals about high bills from various settlements in Southeastern Bulgaria, and they are working on all of them. The probable reason is increased consumption, because the price of electricity has not been increased for seven months.

“We are shocked by what we received as electricity bills. A certain grandmother paid 9 leva for electricity, and at one point they served her 40 euros. We simply cannot remain silent in the face of yet another outrage. We are simply screaming in pain, from everything that is served to us. That is why we decided to launch a general complaint and petition“, commented Teodora Tacheva to bTV.
