The most important thing is to maintain calm and predictability in the education system. This was said by the Minister of Education and Science Prof. Sergey Ignatov upon assuming the post from his predecessor Krasimir Valchev.
The new minister will work for a smooth transition to guarantee calm in schools, universities and scientific organizations in the coming months. “We must protect the system from the upcoming election campaign and attempts at politicization“, emphasized Prof. Ignatov.
Krassimir Valchev thanked the experts in the ministry for the intensive work and efforts made over the past year. "We strove to deal with all current tasks and, in parallel, we worked on strategic priorities needed for the system," he added.
At the end of the ceremony, the two symbolically rang the school bell, which traditionally marks the transfer of the post at the Ministry of Education and Science over the years.
