Scandal with shots, threats and a barricade in the "Kamen Del" hut. The tension escalated after the replacement of the long-time manager. The Bulgarian Tourist Union held a competition for a new boss, which ended the 10-year mandate of the previous owner.
When representatives of the union arrived to hand over the management, dramatic scenes ensued - shots were fired at the wall of the hut, threats were made with knives and a sword. According to eyewitnesses, the previous hut owner even declared his readiness to take his own life.
The situation escalated even more after he barricaded himself inside, together with the newly elected manager. After the intervention of the law enforcement agencies, the former owner was detained.
„The tourist association approached us, as we had given the hut for use since 2014. They told us that there was a person staying there without a contract and they could not get along with him. He refused to leave. I went with a team from the „Tourist Union”, we took the hut back and held a competition. People with a great vision for the place, with a very good program and an established team appeared and they won. We left the previous owner a room where he could put his belongings away and gradually move them out. At one point, things escalated and threats began. Finally, he pulled out a gun, fired two shots at the wall. He said that after killing us, he would not go to prison because he would commit suicide. Finally, one of his colleagues knocked the weapon out of his hand and broke it. The police came, drew up a report and detained him”, Vasil Nikolov, a member of the Management Board of the Bulgarian Tourist Union, told the air of “Hello, Bulgaria”.
According to him, there is a room in the hut that they were unable to enter and they do not know what is inside.
“They did not give us a key. We will ask for it to be opened today in the presence of the police. There is a buzzing sound from inside. It could be anything, even devices for growing drugs”, he believes.
