The new Minister (of Interior) has enough courage and energy to deal with the problem, to the extent that such a problem can be solved. There is no crime that has been completely eradicated and all perpetrators have been revealed. This was commented on the air of NovaNews by former Interior Minister Emanuil Yordanov regarding the activity of the Ministry of Interior against the buying and selling of votes, quoted by novini.bg.
„What Emil Dechev is doing so far makes a good impression and I think he will achieve good results. And all this howling against him comes to show that he is doing his job properly“, added Yordanov.
According to him, in the last early parliamentary elections there was no intention at all on the part of the Ministry of Interior to fight vote buying.
Yordanov pointed out that there is no way for the Ministry of Interior to know absolutely all the vote buyers, but it does know a part of the contingent: “These are mainly people against whom pre-trial proceedings have been conducted; those for whom there is operational information are also known, which, however, is not sufficient to convict them.“
Regarding the “Petrohan“ case; the former Minister of Interior noted that people have already lost interest in the topic.
This tragedy was used for election purposes, but people lost interest. They have enough everyday problems and are busy with them. And when we see what is happening in the world, things take on a different look, said Emanuil Yordanov.
