It is extremely important for us to see immediately after the construction of the next National Assembly whether several key bills can unite the parties within the National Assembly. This was stated on Denyat ON AIR by the deputy chairman of “We Continue the Change“ academician Nikolay Denkov, who is the leader of the PP-DB lists for 1 MIR Blagoevgrad and 23 MIR Sofia for the upcoming parliamentary elections.
He said that one of the topics is the immediate removal of the acting Prosecutor General Borislav Sarafov. "I can't even describe him as 'acting,' he is really an impostor from the point of view of the laws in Bulgaria," Denkov explained. The second - removing the security of Delyan Peevski and Boyko Borisov. The Deputy Chairman of the PP specified that there are no reasons why the two should have such security. "If someone is threatened by some foreign governments, that's one thing, then they should have security. But if someone is threatened by the bandits with whom he had relations some time ago, it's not the job of the NSO to protect this politician," Denkov said.
He summarized that there are several bills that can be used to see who is positioned where in terms of the fight against corruption. The former prime minister immediately clarified that he was not talking about a government here, but about a majority in the National Assembly to vote on laws that the parliament has been unable to adopt for years.
„Let's first see if we can gather 120 votes, and if we do, for bills like this one, which would allow the Health Insurance Fund to send an SMS to every citizen for whom it has paid for a service and/or medication, for example. So simple. We're putting it in four times. Do you know how much money will be saved from that, so that patients won't have to pay extra, because the money won't run out, it will go where it needs to. Or the other bill – private hospitals that work with the NHIF should also hold auctions for medicines“, Denkov listed.
And he summarized: “Here are bills that anyone who positions themselves against will be clear about whether they want to fight abuses and corruption or are actually just talking“.
Acad. Denkov said that the PP is categorically against GERB's idea of extracting shale gas in our country. “Let me say this as a chemist who has worked professionally with companies that develop such chemicals in the States. "The fabrications about how only water and sand were used, and how there are absolutely no dangers, don't sell them to me," said the deputy chairman of the PP.
When asked how the parties would work after the elections to collect over 120 votes with diametrically different positions, Denkov explained: "Like, by putting the Bulgarian national interest at the foundation from the point of view of how Bulgarians can start living better in Bulgaria. We first have to see if we can solve different cases together. My biggest concern is whether we will be able to work on the fight against corruption together. This is the problem, because there we from the PP-DB are the only ones who are consistently trying to do something. And our feeling, and it is justified, is that we are being attacked from all sides precisely for this reason, because others easily understand how to distribute these portions“.
The Deputy Chairman of the PP explained that it remains to be seen where Radev will position himself – whether he will want to distribute the portions together with Borisov or will he actually start blocking the vicious mechanisms related to the justice system, public procurement, the oligarchs that he talks about so much.
„There are no good and bad oligarchs. By definition, oligarchs are those who use their political patronage to earn money and power. There is also good business that does not use political patronage and wants clear, honest rules and transparency, without using political patronage. These are two different worlds and I know where we are. I want to hear where Radev is. I have heard Borisov and Peevski - they are completely clear“, the ex-prime minister explained the situation.
“The “Gyurov“ cabinet is not a PP-DB cabinet. This is the caretaker government of Bulgaria, appointed by President Yotova“, the deputy chairman of “We Continue the Change“ also stated. He stated that Andrey Gyurov is categorically the legitimate prime minister of our country.
In a conversation about the American planes at the “Vasil Levski“ airport in Sofia, he recalled that these planes have been there since the time of the “Zhelyazkov“ cabinet, before the caretaker government took office. Acad. Denkov specified that the Bulgarian Foreign Ministry had responded to the Iranian government's note. “There are normal diplomatic relations, there is no threat to Bulgaria. Currently, Bulgaria is not participating in any actions related to the attacks in Iran, so there is no reason to unnecessarily escalate the tension. What certain political forces want is to reanimate themselves, to get out like Baron Munchausen from the swamp they have gotten themselves into with lies. But this will not happen with new lies“, said the Deputy Chairman of the PP.
The former Prime Minister also commented on the agreement signed by the acting Prime Minister with Ukraine.
“I carefully reviewed the document. There is nothing worrying in it. The document can be called a framework agreement of intentions. There are no specific commitments in it, there are no financial commitments. These are intentions to talk about certain topics. And it is very interesting to see that some of these topics can actually be quite useful for Bulgaria. One is related to the transport infrastructure - from Alexandroupolis through Bulgaria up through Romania to Ukraine to provide railway transport highways, which is both economically and from the point of view of the defense of NATO's Eastern flank is something extremely useful“, explained Denkov.
He specified that another topic is for Ukraine to share the techniques and technologies that it is developing from the point of view of military operations.
According to him, at the moment, according to general opinion, this is one of the best, if not the best army for its size in the world. Denkov added that the third topic is joint work on demining the Black Sea after the end of military operations in order to restore normal commercial shipping on safe sea routes. Separately, there is our participation in the reconstruction of Ukraine when the war there ends.
“So there are many positive things that are described in this list of intentions on what can be worked on“, summarized Nikolay Denkov. He recalled that, for comparison, the contract signed by Rumen Radev's caretaker government with “Botaş“ obliges Bulgaria to pay over 4 billion dollars over 13 years to the Turkish company.
“In addition, the contract is written in such a way that Bulgaria must pay all 4 billion leva, regardless of whether it imports gas or not”, he noted.
