We had a similar situation in 2022-2023 with fuel prices, and then we introduced a clear package of measures that can be applied now. This was stated by the leader of the list of “We Continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria” in Pleven, Bogdan Bogdanov, in the program “Offensive with Lyubo Ognyanov” on NOVA NEWS.
According to him, against the backdrop of the ongoing conflict in Iran and rising fuel prices, the state must intervene with specific and targeted measures. “First, we must take care of the most vulnerable. The situation in small settlements is much more difficult than in large cities,” he stressed.

Bogdanov pointed out that direct financial support for citizens is key. “If we were not paying 500 thousand euros per day under the contract with “Botas”, these funds could go directly to the people. These are tens of thousands of Bulgarians who would receive greater support”, he commented.

According to him, the aid should also cover key economic sectors. “Logistics and agriculture are directly related to food prices. If fuel prices increase, this immediately affects production prices”, Bogdanov explained.

The PP-DB representative stressed the importance of diversification. He pointed out that Bulgaria currently does not have a serious problem with oil supplies, but long-term contracts remain key for stable prices. “It is important to have different sources of supply so that we do not depend on one supplier, as was the case in the past”, Bogdanov said.
He also commented on the topic of nuclear energy. According to him, this is an opportunity to guarantee energy independence in the future. “We must develop nuclear energy responsibly and invest in new technologies such as small modular reactors”, he said.

Bogdanov said that the PP-DB does not envisage changes in the tax model. “We are preserving the current tax system. There will be no increase in taxes”, he stressed.

According to him, among the proposals is also a reduction in the tax for sole traders. “We are talking about an effect of between 20 and 40 million euros per year. This is a manageable resource that can support small businesses”, Bogdanov explained.
