The left in Bulgaria and the BSP as its carrier are in a difficult situation at the moment. This was stated before the session of the centenary Gabriel Valkov, news.bg reports.

For the first time in 82 years, there is no left party in the Bulgarian parliament, he added. According to him, this will not be in the interest of the citizens. The left is the defender of the working people, of normal people, who will not have their defender in the next parliament, the former MP explained.

In this difficult situation, we must think about how to bring together all the left forces and how to defend these left forces, Gabriel Valkov explained. This, in his opinion, will not happen with new internal contradictions, but with unification.

Krum Zarkov did everything possible in this campaign to get the left into parliament, he shared. The party's result is not good, but better than previously predicted, in his opinion, noting that a large part of the socialists feel Rumen Radev is their man.

Now the leftists have to regain the trust of leftists in the party, added Valkov.

Sergey Stanishev remained silent, but a comment came from Dora Yankova. We need to analyze what happened, and Krum Zarkov must continue, she was categorical.

According to her, the leader wants to take responsibility in a gentlemanly way. The problems are many, complex, Yankova believes. For her, what will happen from now on with the party is more important.

Borislav Gutsanov did not spare his criticism, although today he was softer than in the previous days. The big problem is that for the first time the BSP is not in the National Assembly, the socialist pointed out.

In his opinion, not only Krum Zarkov is responsible and it would be ridiculous to say that he is the only culprit. He asked for full powers, he received them, Gutsanov recalled. As a result, things happened like in 2019 during the time of Kornelia Ninova, and that is why he sees repetition.

It is not good for the entire party that we have not learned our lesson and 7 years later we have similar problems, the former Minister of Social Affairs also stated.

Gutsanov does not believe that today the plenum will take Zarkov's head. He also sees a reason for the BSP's result in the regular government, in which the BSP participated, together with ITN, GERB and DPS-New Beginning, but he recalled that the people wanted regular government.
