A traffic accident between two cars seriously hindered traffic on the "Trakia" highway in the direction of Plovdiv in the late afternoon today, reports TrafficNews.bg.
The accident occurred at the sixth kilometer and caused a kilometer-long traffic jam reaching the very exit of the capital.
According to initial information, the collision was between two "Peugeot" cars. After the impact, the vehicles were moved to the emergency lane so as not to further impede passage in the active traffic lanes.
Fortunately, there are no reports of injured citizens in the incident. A police team arrived at the scene to clarify the causes of the accident and regulate traffic. A specialized repatriation vehicle has also been provided to remove the damaged cars.
Although the cars are off the main roadway, the traffic jam remains significant due to the heavy traffic and the reduced speed of drivers passing through the area.
