A large fire broke out late last night on Mladezhki Hill in Plovdiv, Nova TV reports. The fire engulfed vegetation on the northwestern slope of the hill, and the flames and heavy smoke were clearly visible from the surrounding residential buildings.
After a signal was sent, fire brigade teams immediately arrived on site and began actions to control the situation.
Thanks to the quick response of the firefighters, the fire was localized and extinguished before it could spread to a larger area. Mostly dry vegetation burned, and there is no information about injured people.
The fire broke out in the same part of the Youth Hill where there was a fire last year.
At the moment, the cause of its occurrence has not been established. An inspection is to be carried out to clarify where the flames came from. The exact area of the affected terrain is also being established.
