The Sofia District Prosecutor's Office will request permanent arrest for the 37-year-old man who desecrated the grave of Patriarch Neophyte, NOVA reported.

According to the indictment, on April 15 after 11:30 p.m. in front of the “Holy Sunday” the man grabbed the wooden cross placed on the grave of the deceased and began to shake it aggressively. Then he took it out and threw it away.

The Prosecutor's Office also announced that the man leads a nomadic lifestyle. His relatives are being sought to determine if he suffers from mental illness. If he turns out to be insane, the state prosecution will request that he be committed to treatment.
