The Sofia City Prosecutor's Office (SGP) filed an indictment in the Sofia City Court (SGS) against Adrian Antonov, who ran over Anna-Maria and Yavor on a footpath. The indictment against Adrian Antonov was brought after the questioning of 17 witnesses, 11 expert examinations and numerous other evidences, including and video recordings, it became clear from the words of the prosecutors.
With a speed of 106 km/h, the accused hit the pedestrians crossing Yavor and Ani. The girl's body flew 51 m from the place of impact, while the boy's body crashed into the windshield and partially entered the passenger compartment of the car. The car continued for about 300 meters before hitting a roadside pole and the boy's body also fell out. Both pedestrians died on the spot, commented SGP spokesperson Desislava Petrova
Petrova clarified that the accused had proper procedural behavior and there was no reason to delay the investigation. Antonov is currently under a "signature" measure. He was remanded permanently in custody and then his sentence was changed because he is charged with manslaughter and by law cannot be detained for more than two months. He is banned from leaving the country and his driver's license has been revoked.
From her words it was also clear that the driver did not use alcohol or drugs and voluntarily gave samples for research.
