Stefan and Marin Dimitrovi, accused of smuggling and money laundering, were informants of Boyko Rashkov at the time he was interior minister. This became clear from his hearing in the parliamentary committee dealing with the scandal in the "Customs" Agency, Nova TV reports.
The hearing of the former interior minister and current MP from "We continue the Change" - "Democratic Bulgaria" Boyko Rashkov started with a signal. The reason - the data that DANS developed Marin and Stefan Dimitrovi from mid-2022.
Boyko Rashkov asked the chairman of the commission, Toshko Yordanov, whether it is legal in the presence of journalists to divulge data that was collected by special intelligence means. To this, the ITN leader responded with a recommendation: "Go and ask the question to the head of DANS, who brought this information to this committee.
For his part, Hamid Hamid of the DPS countered: "I understand that this person is so incompetent that he doesn't make a difference, but the physical evidence is clear material".
And after the initial passions died down, the former interior minister announced that his first meeting with Stefan Dimitrov was to get information on a bribery case against Miroslav Naydenov from the time he was Minister of Agriculture.
The prosecutor's office during Geshev's time, however, crushed the case, claims Rashkov. But the meetings with father and son Dimitrovi became more and more numerous. Already because of the elections, which were held twice in 2022.
"These persons were extremely well acquainted with the situation surrounding the elections in Haskovo, and for the first time in years lists of 28,000 people were discovered. Prepared and with the amounts, of course," Rashkov revealed.
He also explained the photos in which he is with Stefan Dimitrov, as part of the celebration of his personal holiday. Rashkov stated that he does not understand why a parliamentary problem is being made out of the fact that he celebrated his birthday with "hundreds of guests at the ministry".
"The Ministry of the Interior is clearly a party center, and if there were smugglers, who knows there were more. I don't even know what gift they brought him," Toshko Yordanov said.
At their penultimate meeting on Wednesday, the MPs are expected to listen to the customs officials transferred by Petya Bankova after she headed the "Customs" Agency. The former Finance Minister Asen Vasilev is also invited.
