Asen Vassilev denied that Stefan and Marin Dimitrovi came to him while he was Minister of Finance. This happened during a hearing of the former Minister of Finance in the Temporary Commission for Investigation of Corrupt Practices in the Agency " Customs", broadcast by BTA.
Raya Nazaryan from GERB-SDS announced that the commission received information that the two defendants visited the Ministry of Finance.
"The data is that Stefan and Marin Dimitrovi visited the finance ministry 2 or 3 times. They are not officially recorded, but are met and introduced by Lachezar Stavrev, who is known as your personal driver. Who called you to meet them, who sent them to you?", Nazaryan asked.
"These persons did not visit the MoF and I did not meet them. The new minister confirmed it before this committee. Let me explain to you how to enter the Ministry of Finance. He must be enrolled in my program and without going through my private secretary, the chance of meeting me is zero. The door has a pass, there are cameras. We heard from DANS that these persons have been monitored since 2022 - if so, DANS should have records and data about their visit, Vassilev explained to the deputies.
Georgi Gospodinov and Nikolay Petkov - employees of the "Customs" Agency - were also present at the meeting. The two were adamant that they had never seen Marin and Stefan Dimitrovi at the "Captain Andreevo" checkpoint. and "Lesovo", as they do not know that the two had any communication with customs officers there.
