The parliamentary group of “We continue the Change– Democratic Bulgaria“ submits a request for the early release of the Speaker of the National Assembly Rosen Zhelyazkov with reasons for his overall behavior as the head of this institution.
The PP-DB announced that the chairman of the National Assembly was abusing his power and authority, and was working in the interest of the GERB-DPS political bloc.
The second parliamentary force listed reasons for the motion for a release decision:
Violation in the procedure for early termination of the mandate of the manager of the National Health Insurance Fund - Stanimir Mihailov;
Systematic abuse of the right under Art. 48, para. 5 of the Civil Code;
Violations during parliamentary control under Art. 105 of the Civil Code.
„We Continue the Change – Democratic Bulgaria“ will not stop fighting for Bulgaria to become a normal European country, the coalition pointed out.
Last week, the BSP also demanded the resignation of the Speaker of the National Assembly, Rosen Zhelyazkov. The opposition complained of pressure and censorship and demanded that he leave office.
„We want the resignation of Rosen Zhelyazkov. Something shocking happened. This is an unprecedented violation of the rights of the opposition. It makes sense, because this is a sign and a signal that it cannot proceed like this in a parliamentary republic,” said BSP leader Kornelia Ninova at the time.
Zhelyazkov's answer was not late. He explained that an order was issued not to use the parliament building for pre-election events. According to him, this is a measure against all deputies.
