Bulgaria has absolutely no interest in the contract with the Turkish company "Botash" ;. Even if we accept the theses of the president that this contract creates conditions for diversification, these conditions have already ended and Turkey uses its connection with Romania and Moldova and has been exporting gas to these two countries since the middle of last year, and much more than we are booked. This is what he commented in the studio of "More from the day" according to BNT Rumen Ovcharov, former Minister of Economy and Energy and member of the National Assembly of the BSP.
"This project has some future at some point, but not now because we are paying $490,000 a day without using the contract or the pipeline. Denitsa Zlateva herself wrote a report to the former Minister of Energy Rumen Radev about the negative aspects of this contract. It says what the shortcomings are, how ineffective it is for Bulgaria, how "Bulgargaz" made some efforts, but "Botash" they refused, etc.," explained Ovcharov.
In his words, this contract is senseless and criminal. Above all, he is in the interest of "Botash". The contract will not be renegotiated because the clauses are as such. It is an absurd contract, added Rumen Ovcharov.
