With a delay of 20 days from the preliminary deadline, the state will pay the promised "Ukrainian aid" to the farmers. It is in the amount of nearly BGN 300 million and will cover 50 thousand farmers. The money was collected from the restructuring of the budget of the "Agriculture" DF, as well as co-financing from the state budget, BNT specified.
"We have news to tell you, the so-called "Ukrainian aid" concluded with an agreement that was supposed to be paid by April 22, today we made a decision that they will wait until May 15, means and ways have been found to be paid off." This was announced after the end of the talks by acting Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev.
Ludmila Petkova, Acting Minister of Finance, admitted that "financial assistance was not fully provided. Funds for all sectors were not included."
"I am very happy and satisfied with what happened. Today I saw people at a table talking to each other normally, humanly, and it reproduced a solution. Funds are secured in full for the entire first payment. By May 15, everyone will get what they expected," summed up Georgi Takhov, Acting Minister of Agriculture.
The chairman of the Bulgarian Agrarian Chamber Kostadin Kostadinov pointed out that "this is a sign that the caretaker government will work with us."
