The coalition "We continue the change – Democratic Bulgaria" opened its election campaign for the vote on June 9. The event, under the title “Bulgarians against the hidden power, the battle continues”, took place in front of the National Theater in Sofia, reports novini.bg. At the beginning of the event, the candidates for MEPs were presented.
We are facing another early parliamentary election, but this time the European theme will also be relevant. Bulgaria's place in Europe, Bulgaria's position and voice in Europe. When we look for examples of better education, health care, judicial system - we instinctively turn our heads to Europe. That is why Bulgaria's place is in the European Union. This is what the leader of the PP-DB Eurolist Nikola Minchev said.
In his words, these elections are different because the world has been different for two years. "Bulgaria's position in Europe is not a given, it requires effort and care, it requires constant protection. Defending Bulgaria's position in Europe is a function of arguments, it requires not shouting, but listening. We from the PP-DB also share this understanding," he added.
Minchev noted that the Eurolist of PP-DB "combines quality, ambition, experience. A list worth picking".
I was adamant that a soldier from a foreign army would not be in the center of Sofia. The dismantling of the Monument to the Soviet Army was a very clear sign that we cannot continue to be under the influence of a foreign power. It was a request in which capital and Bulgaria I want to live. With all the power I possess, I will be in the parliament and I hope Bulgaria will be different, said the former regional governor of Sofia Vyara Todeva.
There are people who are angry that GERB has done nothing for Bulgaria for 10 years. But they accuse us of not having done anything for a year, commented Yavor Bozhankov. Dr. Tanya Andreeva declared herself in favor of policies that would bring to an end not only the National Children's Hospital, but also health care, in which not to steal, to have medical specialists who have a decent salary and choose to stay in Bulgaria.
We are in elections again, not our fault. We are in elections because they were afraid that their hidden power would be taken away from them. Because of this fear, Bulgaria is once again at a crossroads. Should we move forward towards our well-being, or take a few steps back, said Nadezhda Yordanova. "For the last few days, I have been hearing how Bulgaria was organized three years ago. Bulgaria was divided by protests, a judiciary that refused to see the networks of the Notary and Pepi Euroto. Bulgaria, which was outside Schengen, built highways without permits. Do we want to accept that these are the possibilities of Bulgaria? I will not give up. We have not given up and we will not give up on the goals for which we fought - the rule of law, a just state, the well-being of our people," she added.
There is a risk of returning to the political winter of Borisov's state, believes Gen. Atanas Atanasov. He urged voters to vote on June 9 to "continue reforms". "There are many challenges before Bulgaria. You see what is happening in Ukraine. It is a threat to world peace. "Bulgaria needs a stable government that has a firm Euro-Atlantic root," noted Gen. Atanasov.
Do you believe there is justice with the justice system we have? Do you believe that the services work for the security of Bulgaria? Do you believe that regulators work for the citizens, not behind the scenes? Over 80% of Bulgarians do not believe. We have a majority for change. If everyone believes that this is not right for Bulgaria, we must show the way in which this change will happen, said Kiril Petkov.
"This change can come from all of us. We are the majority. People are important. It's time for the power to come to the people," Petkov was emphatic.
According to Asen Vassilev, the key to changing the system is "people walking to the polls and voting".
