Three Bulgarian consortia will be financed by the European Fund of Defencefor its participation in three joint defense research projects. The European Commission announced the results of the calls for participation issued in 2023. A total of 54 projects were selected, with their financing amounting to 1.031 billion euros, BNR announced.
The companies are "Control-welding devices" - AD, the Sofia Technical University and the Defense Institute. The projects in which they participate will receive a total of 17 million euros from the fund.
TRITON aims to overcome defense-specific barriers to automating penetration testing and fully automate the pre- and post-testing process. The project will be financed with 7 million euros. On the Bulgarian side, "Control-welding devices" participate in it. and the Technical University.
SECURED strengthens defense systems against quantum threats by designing a resilient cryptographic stack using preselected algorithms and a novel software and hardware co-design approach. The European funding is 4 million euros. "Control and welding devices" are participating from Bulgaria. and the Defense Institute.
NEMO will develop a system to implement various human language technologies for all official EU languages. The Bulgarian participant in this project is the Defense Institute. Funding from the fund is 6 million euros.
The Commission will start preparing grant agreements with the consortia behind the selected proposals. They will be signed before the end of the year.
