"Around 5:30 p.m. today, May 16, an official car of the National Security Service was involved in a traffic accident at the entrance to the “Aksakovo” in Varna. The vehicle in which a guarded person was located was traveling on a road with the right of way, which was taken away by another vehicle. In the impact, the driver of the other car was seriously injured, who subsequently died. His accompanying woman is in a hospital. The guarded person and the driver of the NSO official car were not injured."
This is stated in a message to the media sent by the National Security Service on the occasion of the accident with the car in which Kiril Petkov was traveling.
"The National Security Service provides full assistance to the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the competent Military District Prosecutor's Office to clarify the facts and circumstances surrounding the incident", the announcement also states.
